MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather will prevail across most of Luzon, while the southwest monsoon will continue to bring cloudy skies and rain to the Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday, August 13.
This was the forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), noting that the rise of the southwest monsoon, which is locally called habagat, would affect southern Luzon, particularly the Bicol region and the part northern Palawan, as well as Visayas and Mindanao.
“Good news! Wala pa rin tayong binabantayan na low pressure area o sama ng panahon sa loob at labas nging Philippine area of responsibility na maaring maging bagyo sa mga susunod na araw,” Pagasa meteorologist Daniel James Villamil said.
(Good news! We are not yet monitoring any areas of low pressure or severe weather in and out of our Philippine area of responsibility that could develop into a typhoon in the coming days.)
He also said that no gale warning has been issued on any of the country’s coastlines.
