Pagasa issues flood warning in 7 regions due to LPA

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned of possible flooding in seven regions across the country due to a low-pressure area (LPA) 840 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.

In its advisory issued Wednesday, the state weather agency said waterways in the following regions could experience flooding:

Region IV B – Mimaropa

  • Oriental Mindoro – Malay-Baco, Pulang Tubig, Mag-asawang Tubig, Butas, Pula, Agsalin, Bansud, Sumagui, Bongabong, Baroc, Bulalacao and Balete
  • Palawan – Abongan, Lian, Barbakan, Rizal, Caramay, Langogan, Babuyan, Bacungan, Iwahig Penal, Inagauan, Aborlan, Malatgao, Apurauan, Baton-Baton, Aramaywan, Ihawig, Panitian, Pulot, Lamakan, Kinlugan, Eraan, Tiga Plan, Malabangan, Ilog, Bansang, Conduaga, Culasian, Iwahig (Brookes), okean, Canipaan and Busuanga, Coron
  • Romblon – All rivers and their tributaries
  • Occidental Mindoro – Abra De Ilog, Caguray, Labangan, Lumintao, Anahawin, Monpong, Amnay, Pola, Pagbahan, Mamburao, Ibod and Bugsanga-Magbando
  • Marinduque – Tawiran-Tagum (Marinduque) and Boac

Region V – Bicol Region

  • Camarines Sur – Lower Kilbay Catabangan, Ragay, Tinalmud, Tambang and Lagonoy
  • Catanduanes – Cabuyan, Bato and Pajo
  • Masbate – Lanang, Mapayawan, Mandaon, Asid, Malbug, Guiom, Nainday, Daraga, Nauco (Aguada) and Baleno
  • Albay – Guinale and Upper Donsol
  • Sorsogon – Lower Donsol, Ogod, Putiao, Cadacan, Banuang-Daan, Fabrica (Tugbugan) and Matnog
  • Camarines Norte – Labo and Daet Basud

Region VI – Western Visayas

  • Antiques – Sibalom, Ipayo, Cagaranan, Palawan, Cairauan, Dalanas and Tibiao
  • Capiz – Panay, Mambusao, Panay Malinao, Alingon and Balantian
  • Guimaras – All rivers and their tributaries
  • Negros Occidental – Malogo, Sicaba, Grande, Himogaan, Danao, Upper Tabanan, Sipalay and Lower Ilog
  • Aklan – Ibajay, Aklan and Jalo
  • Iloilo – Pinantan, Barotac, Akalaygan, Jalaud, Jalano, Jagdong, Jalaur, Lamunan, Jaro-Aganan, Sibalom and Guimbal

Region VII – Central Visayas

  • Cebu – Kotkot, Mananga, Guinabasan, Balamban and Sabangdaku
  • Siquijor – All rivers and their tributaries
  • Bohol – Inabanga, Ipil, Matulid, Loboc and Abatan
  • Negros Oriental – La Libertad, Tanjay, Candugay, Siaton, Cawitan, Sipocong, Bayawan, Pagatban and Lower Tabanan

Region VIII – Eastern Visayas

  • Leyte – Sangputan, Palo, Solano (Quilot), Daguitan Marabang, Cadac-an, Bongquirogon, Salug, Pagbangahan, Pagsangahan and Binahaan
  • Samar – Basey, Silanga, Calbiga and Jibatan
  • Southern Leyte – Bisay, Himbangan and Pandan
  • Eastern Samar – Oras, Dolores, Ulot, Taft, Borongan, Suribao, Llorente, Balangiga and Sulat
  • Northern Samar – Catarman, Bugko, Pambujan, Catubig, Palapag, Mawo and Gamay

Region X – Northern Mindanao

  • Lanao Del Norte – Mandulog, Agus, Liangan and Maranding.
  • Misamis Oriental – East Cagayan De Oro, Odiongan, Gingoog, Balatukan, Cabulig, Upper/Lower Tagayan, Central/Lower West Cagayan De Oro, Iponan and Alubijid
  • Misamis Occidental – Clarin, Palilan and Aloran
  • Bukidnon – Above Cagayan De Oro

Region XIII – Caraga

  • Agusan Del Sur – Ojot, Wawa, Libang, Maosam, Kasilan, Gibong, Adgaoan, Simulao, Kayonan and Andanan
  • Surigao Del Sur – Cantilan, Carac-An, Tandag, Tago, Hubo-Oteiza, Hinatuan and Bislig
  • Agusan Del Norte – Lake-Mainit-Tubay, Asiga, Agusan, Linugos and Cabadbaran
  • Surigao Del Norte – Surigao and Magallanes

Pagasa also advised residents of mountainous and low-lying areas, as well as their disaster response and management agencies, to take necessary precautions.
