Paddington Bear was issued an official UK passport by the Home Office.
The co-producer of the upcoming third installment of the film series revealed that the Peruvian-born character was given a passport for his trips to Paddington in Peru.
Rob Silva said radio times: ‘We wrote to the Home Office asking if we could get a replica and, in fact, they granted Paddington an official passport; There is only one of these.
You wouldn’t think the Home Office had a sense of humor, but according to official observations, they have simply classified him as Bear.
The passport also lists Paddington’s date of birth, June 25, his surname Brown and his gender, as well as his British nationality and the South American country Peru as his place of birth.

The film follows the iconic bear, brought to life through animation and voiced by Ben Whishaw, as he travels abroad to visit Aunt Lucy in her homeland.
Directed by Dougal Wilson, Hugh Bonneville returns as Mr. Brown and Imelda Staunton will return to play Aunt Lucy.
Whishaw explained that taking Paddington to Peru will give audiences a different side to the beloved character. ‘
The actor said Empire: ‘He connects with his country and its downward trend.
“It’s what makes him identifiable, interestingly enough. On the one hand, he has learned to be polite and civilized and do the right British thing.
‘And on the other hand, he is a bear who is clumsy and leaves chaos in his wake.
“That’s why kids like it, because kids are in the same situation.”
Olivia Coleman also joined the cast as she transforms into a nun to play the Reverend Mother in the franchise.

However, fans were shocked to realize that Sally Hawkins will not be returning as Mrs. Brown and has instead been recast.
Emily Mortimer, best known for starring in HBO’s The Newsroom, has taken on the role as the family embarks on their latest adventure.
Speaking about her decision to step away from the film, Sally previously explained: “For me it’s been the right time to hand the reins to someone else, and there’s nothing better than the truly wonderful Emily Mortimer, she’s extraordinarily special.
‘She will embody the essence of Mary Brown and yet make her completely her own. However, I am and always will be in love with the world of Paddington.
“I already miss my family so much on and off screen; the experience of making the first two films has truly been one of the best and most creative times I have had in the world of cinema.”
In the film, Hugh Bonneville (pictured) returns as Mr. Brown and Ben Whishaw returns to voice Paddington and Imelda Staunton will once again play Aunt Lucy.
However, fans were surprised to realize that Sally Hawkins (L) will not be returning as Mrs Brown, but has instead been recast with Emily Mortimer (R).
And he added: ‘They both gave me a lot of joy. In fact, I will always hold them very close to my heart.
As the trailer begins, Paddington struggles to understand the photo booth while trying to pose for his passport photo.
Paddington removes the jam sandwich he always makes sure to keep in his hat when he’s hungry and exits the cabin with some rather chaotic clicking noises after losing control of the swivel chair.
Later, when the family arrives at the Retirement Bear Home, Reverend Mother breaks the news that Aunt Lucy’s whereabouts are unknown.
“I’m afraid he’s gone on some kind of search deep in the jungle and we have no idea where he is,” the actress explains.
Determined to find her, Paddington adds: ‘Aunt Lucy found me when I was a puppy and now I have to find her. We have to try.’
The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Carla Tous and Jim Broadbent.
Paddington 3 will hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
