Luke Littler savored Manchester United’s dramatic FA Cup quarter-final victory over Liverpool with a cheeky message aimed at Jurgen Klopp.

Erik ten Hag’s side seized the initiative at Old Trafford and took an early lead through a Scott McTominay goal before Liverpool hit back through Alexis Mac Allister and Mo Salah on the approach of half-time.

The visitors controlled much of the action after the break, but substitute Antony scored to level the match before Marcus Rashford fired wide with the final kick of normal time.

Liverpool were ahead again in extra time thanks to a Harvey Elliot goal, but United persevered and goals from Rashford and Amad Diallo gave them an improbable victory.

Liverpool’s defeat means the club are now fighting on just two fronts in Klopp’s final season at Anfield as they remain in contention for a league and Europa League double to add to their League Cup triumph .

Such a dramatic clash between bitter rivals is always likely to provoke an emotional reaction on social media, and darts prodigy Littler couldn’t resist getting involved in the celebration after the final whistle.

In a post on his X account, the 17-year-old shared a meme including the text: “What is the difference between Luke Littler and Jurgen Klopp?”

“Little has more treble!” »

A lifelong United fan, Littler was invited to the club’s training ground to play darts with Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen following his superb run at the World Championship.

Speaking about the experience, Littler told Mail Sport last month that he had been more nervous playing alongside his idols than in front of a sell-out crowd at Alexandra Palace.

The long-time United fan couldn't help but share a cheeky meme comparing himself to Klopp after the match.

“It was good to see most of the guys, who were fit and training.” He said.

“I spoke to Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire. Most of the other guys shook hands and said “well done.” Then I spoke to Erik and he told me “the weather is nice” even though it was raining!

“But it was just crazy meeting them and playing against Harry and Christian, it was a lot of fun and I actually felt more nervous in front of them than at Ally Pally.”
