The owner was left heartbroken after his dog was snatched outside a Glasgow McDonald’s while he was going to buy him a treat
A dog was kidnapped while its owner went out to buy him food in Glasgow city center on Sunday.
A tan Doberman cross named Link was stolen outside a McDonald’s while his owner Alasdair Crawford went to buy him chicken nuggets for being a ‘good boy’.
Alasdair, who lives downtown, has sent urgent pleas in hopes of finding his best friend and his “rock”.
Talking to Glasgow Live Alasdair said: My rock for seven years. I took care of him through illness and health.
He suffers from a rare genetic condition that requires a lot of medical attention, and without a doubt he got the care he needed every time.
A tan Doberman crosshair called Link was kidnapped while his owner turned around to buy him candy in Glasgow city center on Sunday.
“I worry that he’s such a big character and my life revolves around him.”
An eyewitness told Alasdair that a man allegedly disengaged and ran towards King Street where they both disappeared.
An appeal has been sent out to anyone who might be able to help them find a link on the Facebook page Lost Dogs Glasgow.
The post read: ‘Please help find my stolen dog. He was stolen during the early hours of the day. He is a black and tan Doberman S. King St Glasgow last seen.
“Phone line set up: 07441451835 (this number is just for this) I appreciate your support, by working together we can ensure his safety.”
The post, which has amassed 1,300 shares, also shared a slew of dog snaps.
Many were quick to take to the comments to show their support for Alasdair and to pray for Link’s safe return.

Alasdair, who lives in the city centre, has sent urgent pleas to the Lost Dogs Facebook page in Glasgow, hoping to find his best friend and ‘rock’.

Alasdair replied, “Thank you for your kind words.” I am doing everything in my power to bring the perpetrator to justice. thanks for your support.’
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At approximately 2.30am on Sunday 16th April we received a report of a dog theft in the Trongate area of Glasgow. Inquiries are ongoing.
