More than 25 police officers have been fired or disciplined in the last two years after being caught having sex in the line of duty.
Dozens of police officers lost their jobs after they were found guilty of leaving their posts to have sex with lovers or have affairs with colleagues.
According the sunInformation requests to UK forces found that at least 26 officers faced disciplinary hearings in the last 24 months for having sex on duty, 20 of whom lost their jobs.
But several forces, including the Met, West Midlands and Derbyshire, refused to give details, meaning the real total is likely to be higher.
In one case, a Sussex officer turned off his body camera to have sex with a woman at her home after she had made a 999 call.
In Northumbria, another police officer was sacked for having sex with his lover in a police van parked outside a supermarket.
A Cleveland police officer was also banned from police duties after filming herself performing a solo sex act in a bathroom.
The figures led a former chief superintendent to criticize these disgraced officers for “damaging the reputation of the police service”.

PC Matt Simpson was sacked for serious misconduct after regularly having secret sexual trysts while on duty in 2020.

Retired Chief Superintendent Kevin Moore told The Sun: ‘Officers who engage in this type of activity should be dismissed immediately.
‘Likewise, it is totally unacceptable for officers to engage in sexual activity, even with their fellow officers.
“Taxpayers have a right to expect officials to act professionally.”
In one case earlier this year, an ‘arrogant’ police officer was stripped of his police pension and jailed for four years after being found guilty of having sexual sessions with a vulnerable young woman while on duty.

The officer admitted having sex during a “casual relationship” between 2014 and 2016 while residing in Barrow, Cumbria.
His lover told Cumbria Police’s misconduct panel that he “didn’t even take off his trousers properly in case he had to run away”.
The hearing was also told that he had more than 20 unlawful meetings when he should have been working.
Deputy Chief Constable Mark Webster said at the time that Mr Simpson’s actions “fell well below the standard we expected”.
