Hugh Dennis has sweetly admitted he is “really looking forward” to working with his real-life partner Claire Skinner again in the upcoming Christmas special.
The comedian and actor, 62, and his on-screen wife Claire, 59, began a real relationship after the popular BBC comedy last aired in 2016.
It will be the first time the couple has worked together on the show since they began a romantic relationship off-screen.
Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, he said: “I’m really looking forward to it and we’re all looking forward to it.”
It’s been eight years since Outnumbered’s last Christmas special and the couple publicly announced their relationship a year after it aired.

Hugh also revealed that his on-screen family, the Brockmans, no longer live together, which he admitted he will find “strange”.
He said: “It’s going to be strange, isn’t it? Because I don’t think we live together as a family anymore.” “There are a lot of different things to reflect on and one of the best things about the show was reflecting life as it really was.”
Revealing that filming for the special will begin in November, Hugh said: “It’s fantastic to have it coming back.” We’re doing this 40-minute special but we don’t really know anything about it. We have read in the newspaper that we have a grandson but we don’t know who he is.
Hugh’s appearance comes after it was announced that the much-loved BBC drama will return with a special episode this Christmas, 10 years after the series ended.
It’s eight years since the family last appeared on screen, after they returned for a Christmas special in 2016, two years after the show ended.
The show’s child stars previously sent fans into a frenzy when they reunited nine years after the hit show ended in October, sparking rumors of a reunion.
It was later confirmed that the Brockmans are back for a Christmas special in which viewers will find out what happened to the family over the last decade.
During this time, it was revealed that one of Brockman’s children welcomed his own son in a brief synopsis of the next episode.
Chaos will continue in the small home of Pete and Sue Brockman, as they deal with raising children who are now adults, with their own lives to lead.

She wrote: ‘WE ARE BACK!!!! OUTCOME IN SPECIAL CHRISTMAS ISSUE 2024. SEE YOU SOON.’
In a time of adversity, Sue and Pete gather all their children (including a grandson) to try to celebrate a traditional family Christmas. But fate, neighbors, hyenas and bus replacement services stand in their way.
Hugh Dennis says: “I can’t wait for the Brockmans to get back together.” Pete and Sue have downsized, the kids aren’t kids anymore, but I’m sure family life will remain as chaotic as ever.
Claire Skinner says: “I’m really looking forward to reuniting with my TV family. Working on this wonderful BBC comedy doesn’t feel like work and is one of the greatest joys for us all.”

The post sparked questions from fans asking if a new series could be on the way, while Tyger’s Instagram provided more clues.
The actor, who played Jake Brockman in the hit BBC series, wrote: “Great to be back with the family for #comicrelief – if you don’t already know, these guys are legends.” Apologies for the lack of activity here. I’ll fix it. #outnumbered #grateful.’
