A DIY guru has shared how to keep pesky mosquitoes and spiders away from your next outdoor dinner party with her elegant centrepiece.

Chantel Ibbotson, known for Mom Mila online, created an elegant table decoration with a candle, lemon and rosemary.

The Melbourne mother-of-two said it is the perfect centerpiece for outdoor entertaining as the scents naturally repel mosquitoes, flies and spiders.

Say goodbye to mosquitoes at your next barbecue. Save this bug-repellent centerpiece for the next time you host it outdoors,” she said in an online video.

“It’s the perfect centerpiece for outdoor entertaining to help eliminate bugs, spiders and mosquitoes and looks very beautiful.”

Chantel Ibbotson, known online as Mama Mila, created an elegant table decoration using a candle, lemon and rosemary that also naturally repels mosquitoes and spiders.

The Melbourne mother-of-two said it is the perfect centerpiece for outdoor entertaining as the scents naturally deter mosquitoes, flies and spiders.

Chantel begins by filling a clear glass vase with water and adding three sprigs of rosemary and a whole sliced lemon.

To top it off, place a floating candle on the surface of the water to release the aromas.

“You can add a floating citronella candle on top to make it stronger, but this is a natural alternative,” he added.

Chantel’s clip was viewed more than 2.4 million times and wowed fans with comments.

“Can’t wait to try this one,” said one viewer, and another wrote, “This is gorgeous even if it weren’t for the trackers.”

Chantel fills a clear glass vase with water, then adds three sprigs of rosemary and a whole sliced lemon and covers it with a floating candle.

‘We will have a party and we will be outside including the food. “We’re looking for something to keep the flies off the buffet table,” a third responded.

Some recommended adding hot water to further release the aromas.

‘The vineyards of Portugal plant rosemary and lavender to repel mosquitoes and other insects (natural pest repellent). I was told to cut twigs from both, place them in water and place them around the kitchen. This will repel pests,” explained one woman.

‘Diluted vinegar. The vinegar makes the biggest difference. I saw a board of mosquitoes and I sprayed the vinegar and they all disappeared,’ someone suggested.
