The Oscars 2024 carpet is hosting some of the biggest and brightest stars in Hollywood tonight — but it’s also serving as the backdrop for some of awards season’s most shocking faux pas.
As we come to the end of another awards season, one thing is painfully clear about the 96th Academy Awards: some stars just haven’t learned their style lessons.
Even before the official red carpet coverage had begun, several stars had already put a rather unstylish foot forward at the ceremony, with The Cosby Show star Erika Alexander among some of the earliest arrivals to miss the mark with their ensemble for the evening.
The 54-year-old movie star and author wore a rather confusing dress that featured a simple white strapless silhouette that would have been incredibly elegant if it weren’t for the huge black, purple, pink and green tutu-style skirt that was cinched around her waist and covered much of the simple dress design underneath.
Cosby Show star Erika Alexander wore what would have been a very elegant white dress – had it not been for the huge black, purple, pink and green tutu-style skirt that cinched around her waist
The 54-year-old turned heads for all the wrong reasons thanks to the garish tulle accessory, which puffed out behind her as she made her way down the red carpet
YouTube star Liza Koshy’s dress was absolutely stunning – but the insanely high heels she chose to wear with it led to red carpet disaster as she toppled in front of the cameras
Nikki Novak continued the tulle trend in a voluminous pink number that not only clashed violently with the red carpet, but left her looking like a rather saccharine cake topper
E! host Keltie Knight took the Barbiecore trend a little too far in her shockingly bright dress, which featured a ridiculous-looking puffy pink bow that left her looking like a quilt
Former Vogue editor Lisa Love’s red suit was not only slightly unflattering, it also matched the red carpet a little too perfectly, making the 69-year-old look like she was wearing camouflage
YouTube star Liza Koshy also landed herself a spot on the worst dressed list at this year’s awards show – not because of her dress, but rather because of the insanely high heels she chose to pair with it, which turned out to be so difficult for her to walk in. that she ended up taking an embarrassing tumble in front of the photographer as she walked down the red carpet.
The 27-year-old, who rose to fame as an online star, initially appeared to have scored a style victory as she stepped out on the red carpet in a stunning crimson gown.
But moments later, she fell off both the best-dressed list and the red carpet as she toppled over with her legs floating in the air to reveal her rather ridiculous choice of footwear.
