Oscar Isaac knows exactly who he wants to play as a character and voice in the next movie Spider verse movie.
Asked during a recent interview with British GK who he’d like to see join the cast for the next movie, the actor said that while the production is “brilliant at finding the right person for the right character,” he’d like his friend and The last of us star Pedro Pascal.
“Let’s find something for him,” added Isaac, who voices Miguel O’Hara in the latest animated film in the franchise, Spider-Man: About the Spider-Verse. “He should be a Spider-Person, like a grumpy old Spider-Person.”
Pascal told earlier this year Wired that he met Isaac when they did a play together in 2005. He added, “An off-Broadway show where we got $500 a week, not including taxes.”
The two have been friends ever since, even starring in 2019 Triple Border together. The Mandalorian actor recalled one of his favorite memories of their friendship during the January interview, saying, “There are so many of them. He’s so naughty.”
He continued, “His level of mischievousness on stage during that piece, for example. He played a ghost, which meant that the living characters in the story couldn’t see him. I had to do my scenes, and he would be physically there, but since my character couldn’t see him, he could fuck me, all in front of a live audience, as much as he wanted, trying to make me laugh or forget my text. The memory is dark and wonderful at the same time.”
Also Pascal previously told Esquire that the duo initially bonded because “we have very similar backgrounds”.
“We are both children of Latin American immigrants, so there is a kind of cultural familiarity, and at the same time we are both actors,” he said during the April 2022 interview. “We have the same dreams.”
Spider-Man: About the Spider-Verse currently running in theaters.
