A man was allegedly stabbed to death during an early morning fight outside a suburban home.

The incident occurred outside a property on North Road, in Ormond, southeast of Melbourne, about 1.30am on Sunday.

The man died at the scene while another man, aged in his 30s, was injured.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Victoria Police have not yet formally identified the deceased man.

A fight reportedly broke out at the property before the confrontation spilled out onto the street.

Westbound traffic on North Road will be blocked for motorists traveling toward Bethell Street and OLoughlan Street.

Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
