Orlando Bloom is the latest star to join the Peppa Pig universe as part of Hasbro’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the popular children’s franchise.
The Gran Turismo And The Lord of the Rings actor is slated to be a voice act in the next triptych Peppa Pig wedding party special. Bloom will guest star as the new character and jeweler Mr. Raccoon, who helps prepare Mr.’s wedding. Bull and Mrs. Cow during the show’s very first wedding. Olivier Dumont, president of eOne’s Family Brands, said it was an “honor” to have Bloom as part of the “exciting wedding-themed special.”

The news, which was announced on Monday by Hasbro and Entertainment One Ltd. during the annual Toy Fair in New York, comes less than a week after Bloom’s partner and pop star Katy Perry was revealed as another guest voice actor for the upcoming special, which will be released sometime in spring 2024. Perry will voice seamstress Mrs. Leopard.
Like Perry, Bloom’s casting and voice recording were completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike, according to producers.
The special will encourage young viewers and their families to gather around the “oinktastic” wedding party with their favorite characters, who have just one day to prepare for the big event. Peppa Pig wedding party special is one of several offerings that tie in with the celebration of the British series’ two decades on air next year.
The animated series for preschoolers follows the cheeky pig Peppa, her family and community and will air in more than 180 territories for nine seasons from 2023.
