A pilot has died after a catastrophic light plane crash in Queensland.
The accident happened at Palgrave, southwest of Warwick, in the Southern Downs, shortly after midday.
A local farmer rushed to the scene after spotting a fire on his property and attempted to fight the flames himself.
Unfortunately, the pilot, who was the only one on board the plane, died instantly.

The accident took place at Palgrave, southwest of Warwick, in the Southern Downs, shortly after midday.
Paramedics, firefighters and police are now on scene.
The accident sparked a nearby grass fire, initially making it difficult for rescue teams to access the wreckage.
