Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum are ready to resume their iconic role for the third Jurassic World film, the film director has confirmed. Colin Trevorrow said during a screening on Tuesday evening that the three major roles would be in the future, according to Collider.
The three stars have largely remained absent from the franchise after it was restarted in 2015 Jurassic World. Although Goldblum played a small role in 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Neill has been absent from the franchise since the years 2001 Jurassic Park III, in which Dern had a cameo.
The exact plot details of Jurassic World 3, which will be directed and co-written by Trevorrow, are still a mystery. The end of Fallen Kingdom saw dinosaurs released into the wild, and if the sequel takes place after the movie, it will have to deal with the consequences. Trevorrow has already briefly explored this so-called Neo-Jurassic era in a short film called Fight at Big Rock, which takes place a year after the events of Fallen Kingdom and shows an attempt by a family to deal with this dangerous new world. Jurassic World 3 is expected on June 11, 2021.
