A 56-year-old Oregon man who believed his mother was a vampire has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her to death.
Robert Bruce Poe called Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies on March 12 and informed them that he had ‘accidentally’ killed Judy D Poe, his 79-year-old mother.
Police quickly arrived at his house on East Logsden Road in the town of Siletz and found the accused’s hands and clothes covered in blood while holding his mother’s purse and a letter.
But there was no sign of the body.

Judy was later found about 250 yards away from the house, near a 2004 Gold Chrysler PT Cruiser that appeared to be stuck in gravel.
As deputies approached her body, they saw a ‘large round stake that appeared to be the broken end of a gardening tool sticking out of her neck,’ according to court records.
She was officially pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m. by Lincoln County officials.
The sheriff’s office reportedly said Judy had ‘sustained injuries from blunt force trauma to the head’.

When questioned by deputies, Robert said he believed his now-deceased mother was a vampire because she would stab him at night and wake him up with blood on the sheets, police said.
The accused is being held without bail and will appear in court on March 20.
Robert has previously been charged and arrested for numerous crimes since 1986, including possession of methamphetamine, theft, DUI, harassment and driving without insurance.
