The mother was arrested by Gresham police in October 2021 when she put the baby in the freezer and screamed, “You don’t want him.” Let me show you this fucking little baby, I don’t care!’ through the door.
She was holding the baby in her arms when she opened the door for police.
The baby’s father then showed police a video call he had with McDonald, where she was holding the baby by his onesie and faking it.

Police reports said it appeared the baby was trying to hold his breath as water ran down his face and into his nose.
Court documents say police spoke with and showed photos of the incident to a pediatrician, who said the child was allegedly unable to breathe while water was poured down his nose.
The incident could have led to serious or even fatal complications. The baby’s current condition and location are unknown.
After the officers arrested her, McDonald said she was sorry and that she did it to test the father to see if he didn’t care at all.
She also told police she thought putting her baby under running water would entice the father to come back.
It is not yet known where the father was during the simulated drowning of the baby.
McDonald also told officers that she was not trying to harm or kill her son by drowning him or putting him in the freezer, but that she intentionally doused the baby out of malice.
