Sales of Oppo smartphones in Germany remain paused

Sales of Oppo smartphones in Germany have been paused since August 2022. The reason for this is the patent dispute with Nokia, which has still not been resolved. In addition, they demand 2.50 euros from BBK Electronics for each Oppo smartphone sold – worldwide.

The Chinese company sells about 200 million units per year. So that corresponds 500 million euros and does not yet include smartphone sales from OnePlus, Vivo and Realme. Oppo wanted to reach an out-of-court settlement with Nokia, but the Finns turned down the offer.

In a statement to T3N’s Andreas Floemer, Oppo has now announced that business in Germany is still on hold until an agreement is reached with Nokia. You believe a solution finally found and then sales in Germany can be resumed.
