OpenAI releases ChatGPT for iOS devices

Date:

OpenAI has officially released ChatGPT mobile app for iPhone and iPad.

ChatGPT mobile application is currently available via Play Store App Store Free, but only in America for now. OpenAI plans to expand its application to other countries in the coming weeks. A version is also in development for Android devices and will be released “soon,” according to OpenAI.

As confirmed by OpenAI In a press release, The ChatGPT mobile app syncs chat history to the web, and supports Whisper, OpenAI’s open source speech recognition model, allowing mobile users to use voice input. In addition, ChatGPT Plus subscribers will get exclusive access to GPT-4 capabilities, as well as early access to new features and faster response times.

The mobile version of ChatGPT was somewhat unexpected as OpenAI had never revealed any intentions of making a mobile app dedicated to its popular software. However, the release is not entirely surprising.

Since its launch last November, OpenAI has become very popular and has inadvertently started a race in the world of artificial intelligence. Other companies have since introduced similar features to ChatGPT, such as Microsoft which has released new versions of its Bing and Edge search engines, all powered by the same AI technology foundations that ChatGPT uses. At the same time, Google released its own rival chatbot: Bard, which is now available in more than 180 countries.
