French diver Jules Bouyer in action in the men's individual 3m springboard final in Paris this afternoon

Popular French diver Jules Bouyer and his super-tight swimsuit were back in action this afternoon with another impressive display.

The 22-year-old home favourite was bidding for gold in the men’s individual 3m springboard final at the Paris Olympics.

But despite not winning any medals, the diver once again wowed Olympic fans with his pair of tight-fitting swimsuits.

Bouyer finished eighth with a score of 395.70, finishing behind China’s Siyi Xie and Zongyuan Wang, who took gold and silver, and Mexico’s Osmar Olvera Ibarra, who took bronze.

Last Friday, he also appeared in the men’s 3m synchronized springboard final alongside teammate Alexis Jandard, where the pair finished in fifth place.

Bouyer, from Annecy in south-east France, was instantly dubbed a heartthrob last week when a photo of him in his particularly tight swimming trunks went viral on social media.

The photo of him showering by the pool sent fans into a frenzy, with one commenting that it was “the only reason I love the Olympics.”

Another added: “I really hope his speedo gets paid time and a half.”

A third fan wrote: “It fits the swimsuit very well.”

“Those Speedos are working overtime right now,” a fourth joked.

Another satisfied fan simply wrote that the Frenchman was “perfect.”

Today’s result, however, marks a frustrating end to what has been a whirlwind Olympics for Bouyer, whose new legion of fans was devastated by her failure to win a medal in Paris.

One wrote: ‘Wait, now I’m sad. Who am I supposed to support at the Olympics now that Jules Bouyer is gone?’

Another said: “Jules Bouyer, you will always be dear to me.”

While one simply commented: ‘JULES BOUYER! That’s the tweet.’

Following last week’s online furore, underwear company Shinesty has reportedly offered to protect the 22-year-old’s famous bulge for life.

According to TMZ Sport, officials at Shinesty (famous for offering hammock- and ball-shaped underwear) designed to provide extra support to male genitalia are willing to provide Bouyer with a lifetime supply of their underwear.

“When we saw what Olympic diver Jules Bouyer was carrying in his suitcase from the south of France, we didn’t care that we were an American company,” a company representative said.

“We wanted to give him a gold medal and protect that front truck of his for many Olympic Games to come.”

Shinesty is said to have already reached out to Bouyer’s family and Olympic officials to begin discussions on a possible deal with the diving star.

Bouyer started diving at the age of six and joined the French senior team’s training camp in 2020.

He won the European Junior and World Junior titles in 2021 before qualifying for a spot at the Olympic Games on home soil in Paris.
