“It would have been too big a whirlwind to do it alone,” she said.
“It was my first big on-screen job, so it was amazing to have the guidance of a ‘big sister’ in an environment that became much riskier than we had anticipated.”
She added: ‘Lily doesn’t believe me when I tell her this, but a week before the email came asking me to audition, I had just started following her on Instagram.
‘I usually have a rule that I only follow people I know or have interacted with in some way, but Lily was one of the few that I followed because I was like, I like this girl, I like her vibe, she seems really genuine and cool.’

In January, Ashley candidly revealed that she nearly died after suffering “critical septic shock” that “infected her organs.”
She took to Instagram to reveal her terrible health problem that began with tonsillitis during a holiday in Thailand for New Year.
He said he was in “excruciating pain” and struggled with “a lot of confusion” before entering the intensive care unit.
Speaking about her return to work after the ordeal, Ashley said: “Filming was physically demanding, something I’d never endured before. But I had to stop kidding myself that I had a right to feel that way.”
Ashley recently revealed that her Emily in Paris co-star Lily Collins feels like her “big sister” while speaking about their friendship.
“I’m going to do my best in these stilettos and this latex skirt, and I’ll be able to be proud when I look back at this season and think about how much passion and hard work I put in just to be there.”
Ashley opened up about her recent struggles with her 2.8 million Instagram followers as she shared stunning photos from her hospital bed.
She wrote: ‘As I sit here processing and recovering from the first few weeks of 2024, the only word I can think of is grateful.
‘While on vacation between December and New Year’s, what started as tonsillitis turned into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs.
“I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we were initially told.”
The actress credited her boyfriend Paul Forman, 29, for being “unconditionally” by her side.
On the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK, Ashley opened up about her relationship and returning to work after her septic shock.
She added: ‘You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in ICU, terrifying emergency rooms, countless scans, tests and injections, excruciating pain and so much confusion, all while we were alone on the other side of the world, far away from those we know.
“I love you, Paul. More than I can ever express in words.”
Ashely went on to thank “every single ICU doctor and nurse who worked tirelessly” before concluding, “I was hesitant to share what’s been going on as I’m still in the midst of recovery… but now I know I’m safely on the other side of the worst of it.
“Thank you for reading this. I’m sorry I’ve been so absent from so many things and people in my life lately. I love you all. I’m on the mend and I promise I’ll be okay.”
