She took to Instagram to reveal her terrible health problem that began with tonsillitis during a holiday in Thailand for New Year.

He said he was in “excruciating pain” and struggled with “a lot of confusion” before entering the intensive care unit.

Speaking about her return to work after the ordeal, Ashley said: “Filming was physically demanding, something I’d never endured before. But I had to stop kidding myself that I had a right to feel that way.”

The actress credited her boyfriend Paul Forman, 29, for being “unconditionally” by her side.

She added: ‘You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in ICU, terrifying emergency rooms, countless scans, tests and injections, excruciating pain and so much confusion, all while we were alone on the other side of the world, far away from those we know.

“I love you, Paul. More than I can ever express in words.”

Ashely went on to thank “every single ICU doctor and nurse who worked tirelessly” before concluding, “I was hesitant to share what’s been going on as I’m still in the midst of recovery… but now I know I’m safely on the other side of the worst of it.

“Thank you for reading this. I’m sorry I’ve been so absent from so many things and people in my life lately. I love you all. I’m on the mend and I promise I’ll be okay.”
