This is the touching moment a boy asks Queen Camilla for a selfie during her walk in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, yesterday.

Video footage shows a boy, called Charlie, asking Camilla for a selfie as she greeted supporters who had gathered in the city centre.

Camilla took a tour of Shrewsbury Farmers’ Market on Wednesday, where she spent time talking to organizers and traders, presenting food, craft, jewelery and craft stalls.

Charlie was in the crowd with his mother Aimee when she encouraged him to ask Camilla for a photo.

Aimee can be heard in the video saying: “Carry on Charlie, carry on Charlie.”

He then steps forward and politely asks the Queen: “Excuse me, Camilla, can I have a photo?”

She smiles and obeys, replying, “Okay.”

More than 2,000 people came out to see the Queen in what was her first public meeting with the public since Kate’s announcement that she was receiving cancer treatment.

The Queen has become the most senior royal to return to public duties since the monarchy’s double cancer scare.

She became the leading royal figure after her husband, King Charles III’s, treatment for an enlarged prostate and his subsequent cancer diagnosis, carrying out a series of royal engagements as Prince William supported his wife after the surgery.

And he was out again today after Kate’s shocking news last Friday that she had been receiving cancer treatment but remained hopeful.

The Queen met market organizers Jenny and Stuart Jones before touring the historic event which has taken place in The Square for almost 20 years.

It has become one of the best markets in the area, with around 40 traders setting up stalls regularly on the first Friday of each month.

He also visited the Old Market Hall, where he signed the visitors’ book, which was also signed by Queen Elizabeth II in 1952, before meeting members of the local Beekeepers’ Association.
