A major egg recall has been issued due to dangerous misbranding and undeclared allergens in a product from one of the country’s largest egg suppliers.
Liquid egg products have been voluntarily recalled by Minnesota producer Michael Foods.
Due to a labeling error, the company’s ‘Breakfast Blend Scrambled Egg’ product was accidentally placed in boxes labeled ‘Fair Meadow Foundations Whole Eggs with Citric Acid.’
The scrambled egg product contains milk, which is not listed on the carton label, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) warned in the report. withdrawal notice.

The products were shipped to restaurants in nine states.
Michael Foods was alerted to a problem when several cartons of whole egg product were missing.
After an investigation, the error was discovered and a voluntary recall was issued for about 4,620 pounds of liquid egg products.
The products were shipped to restaurants in Alabama, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina and Utah.
As a result, the products could be found in institutional and restaurant refrigerators, according to Michael Foods.
Institutional customers may include schools, hospitals and workplace cafeterias, but it is not yet clear if any of them have been affected by the incident.
