A commercial oil tanker collided with a recreational vessel, leaving one man dead, another missing and at least two injured.
The collision occurred in the ship channel at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the Lydia Ann Channel near the ferry landing in Port Aransas, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard is searching for a missing 25-year-old man who is believed to be in the water.
One of the injured people was treated at the Coast Guard station in Port Aransas, while the other was transported to a hospital.
At 7:30 am, emergency boats were sighted near the canal intersection near San Jose Island arriving at the location where the recreational vessel was nearly submerged.
