One Direction spark hopes of a reunion

One Direction has launched a new Whatsapp chat group, raising hopes they will reunite seven years after announcing their indefinite hiatus.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are all said to be back in touch thanks to the creation of the group chat.

The chart-topping group, which was first created by Simon Cowell on the X Factor, has released five albums in as many years.

Now fans are hoping new music from the band could be in the works, after Liam 29 revealed the boys are all talking again.

Liam recently said sunday sun“I don’t know – but we just started a new group chat, so that’s something”

He was pressed if that meant One Direction would be back soon, but he apparently shrugged it off and declined to comment further.

Another suggestion that the band is about to get back together is that Niall and Louis may have helped Liam on his new record.

They joined Liam at a Los Angeles studio where he is working on his second solo album.

According to a source, Louis and Niall recorded guest vocals for one of Liam’s new singles on the album.

An insider said: “Liam is good friends with Niall and Louis so I loved catching up with them while they were all in LA.” Being together in the studio felt natural, so they all hopped on a track.

“It was second nature for them to sing together and it felt like the good old days. They had a good laugh. Producers are hoping Liam will include it in his finished album, fans will love it.

Last month, it was reported that Liam in particular was in desperate need of a One Direction meeting to revive his career.

The popstar had been trying to get in touch with her former bandmates, according to All right! Magazine.

It comes after Liam recently reunited with Louis at the premiere of his documentary All These Voices in London.

A source said: ‘Liam is desperate to get back on the road with the boys. His solo career did not remain as successful as he hoped, and work became stagnant for him.

“On the other hand, he can see how well Harry is doing and he would like that level of stardom for himself.”

Liam has damaged his relationship with his former bandmates somewhat in recent years – particularly when he made controversial remarks on Paul Logan’s podcast.

The star caused a huge upheaval among One Direction fans last year after making controversial comments about the band.

He claimed the band formed around him and he outsold his bandmates with his debut single – a fact disputed by fans.

He called Zayn Malik a “d***”, adding that there were “many reasons why I don’t like Zayn” and alluded to the singer’s altercation with Yolanda Hadid last year.

Liam also said he and Louis Tomlinson hated each other when they were on One Direction and claimed they were thrown against a wall by one of his bandmates.

The headline-grabbing claims were not well received by fans, and they took to Twitter to lug the hitmaker with viral memes and crack jokes about his social media accounts being blocked.

The source speaking to Ok! has now said he regrets the things he’s said about the boys in the past and doesn’t think he’ll get the backlash he did.

The insider claimed he tried to reach out to Harry and Niall to get the band together, but feared he had “burned his bridges with Zayn.”

After the podcast, he apologized for his comments, saying he had a “chip on my shoulder” and “hit on everyone else.”

He added that he “loves my boys” seeming to refer to the members of One Direction.

Liam said the critics made things “pretty dark” for him and that he hadn’t left his house for three months but was able to laugh at the jokes.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Saturday, he wrote: “It got pretty dark for me for a while when you turned on me.” I haven’t left the house for 3 months.

He continued: “You know I’m sorry for everything I love my boys, I don’t know what was going on with me other than I had a problem with me and I got away with it. taken from everyone…

“I’ve never had a bigger chip on my shoulder and I’m really happy to lose it.

‘I hope you can forgive me in time ’cause we’ve been through a long way [too] a lot but the jokes are funny, keep coming.

He then joked that he was ‘waiting for the blame’ if England lost the World Cup quarter-final game against France.

Liam added: “If England win, I hope I get blamed too, so I give you free rein to block me… Just kidding, don’t block me.”

More recently, in a now-deleted Instagram post uploaded after the premiere of All These Voices, Liam opened up about his mistakes and highlighted his hope that his ex-bandmates can one day put the past behind them.

“Seeing the world through your eyes last night was the most beautiful thing to experience,” he wrote of the documentary, which chronicles Louis’ journey in the music industry.

‘My neck hurts from how much I’m staring at you right now. You were already my friend and my brother, but being able to look out that window into your world and your mind only extends the respect I have for you. What you went through and how you kept it all inside!!

‘I’m so sorry that I was so crazy and didn’t do better for you, I’m ashamed in these times that I’m not as good a friend as you have been to me, at least I have the time now and I’m still me, so I’ll try to redeem myself.

He also took steps to rekindle his friendship with Harry after his Grammys success in February.

In an Instagram post after the event, he wrote: “Wow…this picture is truly something to wake up to and when you write music like you do Harry you deserve every millisecond of that moment watching smiling the trophy you won”. God bless you brother congratulations.

One Direction was formed in 2010 on X Factor when Simon Cowell brought them together.

Each member auditioned for the show separately, but failed to make it to the Judge’s Houses stage solo.

News of their extended hiatus first broke in August 2015, just months after Zayn unexpectedly left the band, leaving fans everywhere heartbroken.

They have won 200 awards, including seven Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and 28 Teen Choice Awards.
