Lana Parilla has admitted that she once spent several months homeless when she was still a struggling actress.
During his appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Tommy DiDario’s I’ve never said this before On the podcast, the 46-year-old film and television actress said her fear of becoming homeless again had been with her ever since.
“There’s always a little part of me, in the back of my head, that says, ‘Oh my God, never stop working so hard,'” Lana said to continue her confession.
“I was homeless for two months living in a car,” he shared. “I just never want to end up there again.”
The Once Upon A Time star, who appears with Jennifer Lopez in Netflix’s critically panned sci-fi thriller Atlas, said her time without a stable living situation “forces” her to “be more creative and find new ways to make money and find everything. These different ways of developing projects, doing your own thing and taking on all these new talents.

Lana went on to reveal that she was still a teenager when she went through a period of homelessness.
‘There was a time, early in my career, and it was very early, when I was living alone, like when I was 19. It was a really difficult time,’ he recalled.
Homelessness can take multiple forms, from living in the car to couch surfing to living on the streets, but the Spin City star did not clarify what her situation was like at the time, which would have been in the mid-1990s. 1990.
“My family and I were in different places and I was left alone,” she continued. “It was very difficult to support yourself and, you know, pursue a dream and also try to get an education all at the same time.”
Lana admitted that she “couldn’t do it all” alone at the time.
“I had to drop out of college, which broke my heart,” he continued. “I had to find a way to make more money to support myself.”
Then the fear of losing everything that remained with Lana after her time homeless took hold of her again.

Although decades had passed since then and she had since had several notable acting jobs, the specter of homelessness was even more terrifying now. Although she is much more confident in her career now, someone her age may not be able to bounce back like she did when she was a teenager.
“At 19 it’s different, but at 46 it’s much scarier,” Lana added.
