Luke Freeman, 19, from Reading, Berkshire, died immediately after his fall in tourist apartments in the famous resort of Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava, just before 6:30 am on Tuesday.
The police say that they treat the tragedy as an accident and believe that he lost his balance and after a night out with friends fell over the edge of the balcony.
Luke Freeman, 19 (left and right, standing in the middle), is named as the British tourist who fell to his death from a balcony in Lloret de Mar, Spain, in the early hours of Tuesday
He stayed in nearby apartments for the one where he met his death – Apartamentos Trimar in the center of Lloret – but had returned to the block with six friends who had checked in a week earlier.
They would return to the UK on Tuesday after making statements to the police.
Good friend Jack Luttman, also from Reading, said: “Words cannot explain how devastated I am.
& # 39; Luke Freeman, you were like a brother to me and I will always love you man.
& # 39; Quiet buddy. Thank you for all the memories you have given me since the age of six. You were really a legend.
& # 39; And you have no idea how much you and everyone you know will miss you. REST IN PEACE. & # 39;
Wokingham, Berkshire-based DJ Mark Shepherd-Ellis, in a message for music fan Luke, said: & # 39; Now drink a beer for you. The sky is blessed. & # 39;
A spokesperson for record label and event agency Faded Audio said in a post on social media: & # 39; We have heard the sad news about Luke Freeman.
& # 39; It is never nice to lose someone so young. We remember that Luke spent most of the night at our very first event in the front.

A police spokesman from Mossos d 'Esquadra in Girona, the capital of the province of Lloret, is part of it, said after the news about Luke's death:' I can confirm that a British man died after falling from a balcony on the fifth floor in Lloret de Mar.
& # 39; He was on vacation in the area. & # 39;
A well-placed source said: “There is an investigation going on and is being conducted by Mossos d & # 39; Esquadra in the nearby town of Blanes, but witnesses have said it was an accident and he was not trying from balcony to balcony or anything like that to jump that.
& # 39; It's a matter of investigation, but given the time it happened, officers will be at 6:20 am & # 39; in the morning see if the holiday maker has lost the night and whether alcohol played a role in the tragedy. & # 39;
At first it was believed that Luke, presumably in the Wokingham area of Berkshire, had stayed in the apartments where he died, but later researchers confirmed that he was a guest elsewhere.
Some of the friends he was with understood that he saw him submerge until his death and spent most of Tuesday at a police station with statements before he flew home.
A spokesperson for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said on Tuesday evening: "We are helping the family of a British man who died in Lloret de Mar and are in contact with the Spanish police."
