- She showed off with a daring celebration after her victory
Although Harry Garside suffered disappointment in the boxing ring in Paris, Australian giant Teremoana started his Olympic campaign with a bang with a brutal victory.
The 26-year-old, who competes in the super heavyweight division, scored a first-round knockout victory in his fight with Ukrainian Dmytro Lovchynskyi on Monday afternoon local time.
The pitiful Ukrainian survived a knockdown and an eight count before Teremoana rocked him with a punishing one-two, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
After being officially confirmed as the winner of the fight, the Australian showed off with a daring celebration in the center of the ring.
He will face Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov in the quarter-finals on Friday.
