Czech skier Tereza Nova is fighting for her life at the hospital after being medically induced in a terrible accident in Germany.
Nova, 26, underwent cerebral surgery before entering a coma after crashing into the training of the World Cup of Women’s Descent on Saturday in Garmisch-Partenkironn, Baviera.
The Czech Ski Federation said the Olympic athlete needed surgery to reduce cerebral inflammation in a hospital in near Murnau after it fell into the last training session on the Kandahar track on Friday.
The Federation said that “it will remain in a medically induced coma as much time as the medical team considers it necessary.”
“We all think of Teresa and wish him a speedy recovery and a lot of strength,” they added.
Nova competed in four races at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, being 14 in the combined event its best result. He has competed in the World Cup races since 2019.
