Speaking up: Last week, Olly had to apologize for a joke he played with his girlfriend Amelia in a TikTok video after a significant backlash
During the TikTok, when his bodybuilder girlfriend reached into the tube, the video stopped and Olly said, “Say hello to my little friend.”
The empty tube was placed in a very suggestive position and Amelia was unimpressed when she entered.
The Voice judge shared the video on his Instagram with the caption, “Pringles are doing a varied package now.”
Video: The singer entertained his fans with humorous videos during the closing, but some thought his video of holding a Pringles package in a suggestive place went too far
Olly quickly became popular on Twitter after the joke was uploaded to social media, leaving some viewers less than impressed.
One said, “Olly Murs ruined my day,” while another said, “After watching that Olly Murs video,” me with a clip of a child looking disgusted.
In another video, the star starred with Amelia in a comedy scene that uses violent language from the 2008 film Step Brothers.
Olly is voiced to his girlfriend during one of the famous lines of the movie: “I want to punch you in the face.”
Amelia, pictured in bed with Olly, responds with more lines from the Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly movie, saying, “I hope you stay still when you sleep, because I’m putting a rat trap between your legs.”
Leading British domestic violence campaigner Rachel Williams, who nearly lost her life after being shot by her former partner Darren Williams and her teenage son, ended her life because of the trauma of her attack in 2011, said the video in which the couple turned violent language used ‘were not funny’.
Williams tweeted, “Not the best message from @ollymurs, knowing the epidemic is domestic violence. Unfortunately, I and others don’t think it’s funny. ‘
Response: Some social media users were less than impressed with Olly’s video
She told Femail, “The Tik Tok video may have been made with a wink, based on Step Brothers, but not all of those followers will associate it with it, especially his younger audience.
“The message Olly and his girlfriend share is that violence is okay … It’s not! As we know, domestic violence and violence is an epidemic. He is in an influential position that carries a responsibility.
“Maybe he’ll think about his video and message. A very bad judgment on his part that could have a damaging effect on his younger audience who could live in a toxic house where this is their daily life. ‘
Others said the star should be more aware of its huge fan base of under 18. TikTok is open to children ages 13 and up.
