Olivia Munn appears to have hit back at online speculation about the timeline of her relationship with John Mulaney, refusing to “play the game” and divulge details.
The 41-year-old Newsroom actress defended her privacy as she explained why she is silent about when the relationship started during an interview with the Los Angeles Times Tuesday out.
“It’s definitely not strange for me to have people speculate incorrectly about things and let rumors run wild in a certain way,” Munn, who is expecting her first child with Mulaney, told the publication, adding later. admit: ‘It’s easier to blame me’, while choosing not to pin the data.

Then she seemed to dismiss the rumors of the breakup, referring to their relationship in the present tense and saying, “There’s no way anyone could know what one of their relationships was or what our relationship is.”
Munn said she wouldn’t give any more information, hoping she wouldn’t give a “feed”[ing] in a story that just isn’t true.’
She added that people tend to “ignore really specific public signs and actions that completely contradict the false narrative.”
“For whatever reason, it’s easier to blame me,” continued the X-Men: Apocalypse actress, citing claims that Munn and Mulaney may have started dating before his divorce from the wife of six years of Anna Marie Tendler hit the headlines in May 2021.
Days later, he and Munn would go public.

Moreover, she thought that any clarification would only lead to them being “called sloppy or not telling the truth.”
“The only way to win, for me, is to back off and not play the game at all,” Munn said.
John, 39, announced his and Olivia’s pregnancy on September 7, 2021 while appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
He had said to Seth, ‘I put a lot into this’ [year]. I went to rehab in September, I got out in October, I moved in October, I moved out of my ex-wife’s house.’
“Then I went to Los Angeles in the spring and met and started dating an amazing woman named Olivia… And we’re having a baby together.

“I was nervous when I was about to break the news! Olive and this baby helped me save myself on this early journey out of my recovery.”
Mulaney’s detailed timeline seems strategic, at least according to a Page Six insider who used to work with Munn as an agent.
“I don’t think it’s a coincidence that John broke the news about Olivia’s pregnancy in the same way he did by basically giving a timeline of his past months – when he left his house, what it was like in the spring when he fell in love with Olivia.’
“It seems to me that he goes to great lengths to dispute the idea that he cheated.”
Since then, Mulaney has moved to hasten his divorce from Tendler with a team of attorneys.

Sources from last week told page six that Mulaney is now represented by Teitler & Teitler, the firm that previously represented Matt Lauer’s ex-wife, Annette Roque, alongside a number of powerful Goldman Sachs execs and battles for the big money.
“John wants to speed things up and get the divorce done,” said a source. “He’s going to be a father, so he switched to a new law firm with a reputation for being tough and efficient.”
Mulaney filed for divorce from Anna, his wife of six, in May after a 60-day treatment program for cocaine and alcohol abuse last year, and was in the outpatient clinic in February.
