Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United will not complain about the rapid turnaround for the new season and are using their Europa League side to prepare for the new season.
United’s run to the semifinals in Cologne – facing Sevilla at the RheinEnergie Stadium on Sunday – means they will start the new Premier League season later than the scheduled start date of September 12.
Solskjaer believes this will give his players enough time to have two weeks of vacation and fourteen days of pre-season training, even if they reach the Europa League final on Friday.

Regardless, the United boss insists he has no reason to complain given the unique circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic and Project Restart.
“I don’t see any reason why we’re complaining,” said Solskjaer. ‘We just have to make the most of it and take care of the players. Hopefully the national coaches will also take care of them.
‘I don’t have to worry about it. The authorities will give us as much rest as possible. We have a minimum of 30 days before we start. That means we can give them two weeks of vacation and two weeks to prepare for the first game.
United’s third place in the Premier League could be complemented by silverware in Cologne
‘I’m not worried about next season at the moment. We have a good opportunity to close the season. This is the only way we could have ended and it was very important for the supporters to have a match on television every day.
‘You look forward to the Champions League and Europa League matches, and that helped me.
“We have to use it to prepare for this tournament, but it’s almost a pre-season for next season.
‘We have to get back to work. We shouldn’t complain, because this is the world we are in now. ‘
Solskjaer was full of praise for the unbridled Bayern Munich, which humiliated Barcelona 8-2
Like many people, Solskjaer had to admire Bayern Munich’s brilliance as they humiliated Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals on Friday night.
“We looked at it of course, and I have to say Bayern Munich is setting the standard right now,” he said.
The new coach came in and they were absolutely brilliant. They are aggressive, they print, they are technically skilled. It was a top performance by a top team. ‘
