Here we go again: Just Stop Oil fanatics hold back traffic as they organize ANOTHER traffic protest in London
Just Stop Oil activists protested again this morning in London as they took to the streets to block traffic once again.
Video footage posted on social media shows protesters ‘walking slowly’ on Putney’s roads, causing major delays for Londoners as long queues form behind them.
The ecogroup confirmed they had started disrupting roads shortly after 8:30am on Friday, writing on Twitter: “We are marching to protect rights, lives and livelihoods in a time-honored method of defiance.
“We’re doing what the Suffragettes did, what the civil rights movements did. Suella Braverman’s anti-democratic actions will not stop us.”
Just Stop Oil started a new form of protest this week, taking to the road and walking very slowly to hold up traffic. They demand that the government ban all new fossil fuel projects, which are a major cause of global warming.
A group of about 10 protesters were filmed blocking roads in Putney shortly after 8:30am

The Met police issued a statement at 8:41 a.m. saying that protesters began slowly marching on Uxbridge Road at around 8:00 a.m.
They added: “Police are quickly on the scene and are engaging with protesters to minimize disruption to Londoners.”
After announcing protesters had taken to the roads in Putney, the group said a second team had blocked Mile End Road.
A spokesperson said: “We are not deterred by changes in protest laws or how vigorously the police enforce those laws.
“Just Stop Oil supporters understand that this is irrelevant when we face mass starvation, mass death and the collapse of an ordered human society.”
Shortly before 9:00 am, activists had moved onto Putney Bridge, where they continued to block traffic. A large police presence at the scene was photographed, with reports of around 10 people involved.
Meanwhile, video footage on Mile End Road showed a man grabbing protesters’ signs before police officers told him to stop.
The man replied, “Stop what?” before being led away from the walkers.

Just Stop Oil protesters take part in a slow march in central London on Thursday

On Thursday, activists took to central London roads, including Oxford Streetbring traffic to a virtual halt.
They went off the road and onto the pavement after the Metropolitan Police issued a dispersal order to prevent another stunt on Waterloo Bridge.
A spokesperson said that at around 8:45 am “conditions” had been issued to protesters, asking them to leave the road because their slow walk was causing “serious and deliberate disruption to those going about their daily business.”
The demonstrators obeyed and left the road.
