An Ohio television reporter is fighting for her life after being shot by a gunman who later committed suicide.

Winnie Dortch was seriously injured in Monday’s shooting in Lakewood, Ohio, which police described as a domestic dispute, according to The Express Tribune.

Lakewood police said they received calls of two people arguing on Clifton Boulevard just before 8 a.m.

The police ran to a house and discovered the journalist seriously injured on the sidewalk, next to the shooter.

He had turned the gun on himself and was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter has not been identified. Lakewood detectives say he and Dortch were “familiar” with each other, but have not yet commented further on the relationship.

Dortch was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in serious condition.

Dortch describes herself as a mother of one on her X account. Her colleagues shared their shock at the incident and wished her a speedy recovery.
