Ohio State will replace its two main runners from 2024.
RB Quinshon Judkins told ESPN on Friday he is declaring for the NFL 2025 Draft. Judkins scored three touchdowns in the victory of the 34-23 National Championship game of the state of Ohio against Notre Dame on Monday night and had the Option to return to Buckeyes for one more season.
“My time here in the state of Ohio was like no other”, Judkins told ESPN in a telephone interview. “It was like any other place that I have been. I enjoyed my time so much. I am ready to take the next step on my trip and show that I am the best running in the Draft class.”
Judkins transferred to the state of Ohio from Ole Miss before the 2024 season to form one of the best runners in the country with Treveyon Henderson after Henderson decided Judkins led the team with 1,060 yards and Henderson had 1,016 yards.
They combined for 27 touchdowns in total when Judkins had 14 runs and two reception scores. He scored twice on the floor on Monday night and also caught a TD pass in the minors seconds of the first half.
Judkins ran 11 times for 100 yards in the game of the national title, thanks to a 70 -yard race in the first half. He had 17 haunts for 85 yards against Oregon at the Rose Bowl, but he had only 19 carries combined for 70 yards in victories in playoffs about Tennessee and Texas.
Judkins was a breakout star in Ole Miss as a first -year student in 2022. He hastened more than 100 yards in eight games and took 274 times for 1,567 yards and 16 TD. Their numbers decreased in 2023 when he ran 271 times for 1,158 yards and 15 scores.
The state of Ohio had already moved to prepare for the departures of Henderson and Judkins during the winter transfer portal, since the Buckeyes committed to West Virginia RB CJ Donaldson after the regular season. Donaldson hastened 421 times for 2,058 yards and 30 touchdowns in three seasons with the mountaineers.
