Ohio State’s national championship celebration came to a literal halt late Monday night after the cart carrying Buckeyes representatives to the post-game press conference stalled after hitting a wall.
The Buckeyes won their first national championship since 2014 with their victory over Notre Dame. Everyone was jovial until the crash.
The cart was driven by what appears to be an official from the College Football Playoff or Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
After picking up head coach Ryan Day, quarterback Will Howard and linebacker Cody Simon from the locker room, the driver attempted a sharp left turn.
The wheel wasn’t cut hard enough, as the cart drove straight into the wall, giving the Buckeyes trio near-whiplash.
Day didn’t seem happy about having to walk to the post-match press conference, while Simon and Howard laughed about it.

No one was injured in the crash, which initially saw the cart attempt to be freed from the wall without success.
The damage to the cart was seen nextwith the vehicle’s axle looking off center.
Ohio State defeated Notre Dame 34-23 on Monday night, making it four wins after losing the regular season finale to Michigan.
The Buckeyes competed in the first 12-team CFP with Day’s job security very much in question after missing out on that elusive national title during his tenure in Columbus.
Now Day appears to be as protective as any head coach in America about restoring Ohio State’s place in the college football hierarchy.
Even if you’re on a cart that hits a wall to end the season, you can’t screw that up.
