An Ohio sheriff is asking residents to write down the addresses of homes that show support for Kamala Harris in the presidential campaign, suggesting they could be forced to house illegal immigrants flooding into the state in the future.
Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski of Portage County, southeast of Cleveland, has suggested that neighbors look for homes that display lawn signs supporting the Democratic presidential candidate and, in particular, Harris/Walz.
“When people ask me… What happens if the laughing, writhing hyena wins?” Zuchowski wrote, referring to the current vice president, “I say… write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs on their lawns!”
‘So… when the illegal ‘Locust’ humans (whom she supports!) need places to live… we will already have the addresses of their new families… who supported their arrival!’ Zuchowski said in a Facebook post using anti-immigrant rhetoric.

In the comments below her Facebook post, which has been shared hundreds of times, one supporter replied: “I’ll add that name to the list,” while another commented: “I’m making a list and checking it twice.”
Zuchowski will face a Democratic challenger in his re-election campaign in November.
In the 2020 election, Portage County voted 55 percent for Trump, while 43 percent chose Biden.
But not everyone agrees with Zuchowski, including Republican Portage County Commissioner Tony Badalamenti.
“I just thought it was pretty ignorant. Once it’s posted on Facebook, no one really cares where it comes from. If it’s you, it’s you,” Badalamenti told Fox 8.
‘Everyone has their own way of thinking about how they should represent their party. I do not agree with that attitude.
‘(Zuchowski) posted that we should all copy the addresses of people who display political signs different from our beliefs.
“It scares people. It’s called bullying, and that’s from the top law enforcement official in Portage County.”
Zuchowski’s post comes as Ohio has been making headlines for the sudden influx of tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants into the city of Springfield, in the far southwestern corner of the state, about 200 miles from Portage County.

Residents of this city of just 60,000 say the infrastructure cannot cope with the influx of so many people at once and now residents say crime is fast becoming a problem.
“It’s like living in a dystopian nightmare. You expect to wake up and it’s 2019 again, and then you realize it’s 2024, and it’s the same thing over and over again, day after day. It’s hard sometimes to wake up in the morning and hear residents I’ve known for years struggling,” said Springfield resident Diana Daniels. Fox News.
‘This is a city where people live paycheck to paycheck… working class. Citizens who depend on our social services, like health care, who go to the SS office to apply for benefits, stand in line and don’t get the services they need.’

Trump claimed during last week’s presidential debate that Haitian refugees were “eating the dogs, the people coming in were eating the cats.” The claim became a meme.
Trump won Ohio with 53.27% of the vote, defeating Biden, who received 45.24% of the vote in the 2020 election.
The claim was later repeated during Trump’s presidential debate with Kamala Harris as they discussed immigration and border security.
Trump went further, saying that Haitian refugees were “eating the dogs, the people coming in were eating the cats.”
“They’re eating the pets of the people who live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a disgrace,” Trump said in response.
Local officials have said the claims are not true.
Springfield Mayor Rob Rue said a “lie” is tearing apart the city of nearly 59,000 residents.
“In response to recent rumors alleging criminal activity by the immigrant population in our city, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community,” the city added in a statement.
