A mysterious creature nicknamed the ‘Loch Fresh Monster’ has been identified as lurking beneath the ripples of a dark natural pond in Cambridge Massachusetts.
Just weeks before Halloween, multiple sightings have been reported of a narrow, slippery, 15-foot-long creature lurking beneath the waters of Fresh Pond.
Rumors started circulating in late September when fliers appeared along the fences of the Fresh Pond Reservations asking if anyone had noticed a strange creature jumping out of the water.
David Braccio claimed he saw a 15-foot-long animal appear 100 feet offshore while he was walking with his nine-year-old daughter in early September.
“It was like this thing in the water, it looked like a lump,” Braccio said NBC10.
“When you see something you’ve never seen in your whole life, you don’t know what it is, your brain doesn’t put it together.”

He continued to post flyers around Fresh Pond with a crudely drawn image of the so-called monster.
“We saw a mysterious creature emerge from the water,” he wrote. ‘We know for sure it wasn’t a snake, fish, river otter or axolotl.
“It quickly disappeared beneath the surface,” he continued.
“It all happened very quickly, but about twenty seconds later I noticed a ‘boiling’ of water beneath the surface, as if the creature was changing direction and diving under water,” Braccio said. the Boston Globe in an email.
The newest legendary creature in Massachusetts is called the “Loch Fresh Monster” or “Freshie” by locals who have seen it or heard stories about it.
Theories abound, with some speculating about a cover-up, especially after Braccio’s flyers were removed by city officials within hours of being posted on September 19.
“Is there anything they don’t want us to know?” Braccio asked in a flier he updated later that month.

Braccio even bought a trail camera and prepared to place it near the water in hopes of gathering evidence.
Fresh Pond, with a depth of 17.5 meters and a capacity of 1.5 billion liters of drinking water for the residents of Massachusetts, has been a source of life for centuries.
An abundance of eels live underwater, and according to Timothy Puopolo they can grow up to five feet long. city water department ranger.
City officials investigated after seeing Braccio’s flyer and ultimately came to a conclusion.
Mark Gallagher, acting director of the Cambridge Water Department, said: ‘There is nothing to hide.’
“There is a very plausible and rational explanation,” he added. Aeration tubes were placed under the water to allow air to enter and keep the water clean.
On calm days, Puopolo says you can easily see air bubbles amid the ripples.
The mysterious, snake-like creature called ‘Freshie’ is a tree trunk. The tree branch could have fallen into the pond during summer storms, Gallagher added.
“It’s the perfect illusion that there’s a large creature swimming in the water, but in fact it’s just a tree trunk,” said Gallagher.
The city’s investigation is closed, but Braccio was not convinced.
“I don’t think the city is breeding anything in the pond for warfare. I mean, I doubt it, it’s possible,” Braccio said.
“I’m the one who’s going to take a picture and I’m going to have the last laugh.”
