A brave cop drove his way into a burning vehicle before dragging the unconscious driver outside and resuscitating him after not detecting a heartbeat.

Bodycam footage shot in the city of Phoenix, Arizona, shows the officer running towards the car, which has bright flames in the front.

Two officers initially try to enter the burning vehicle by smashing the driver’s side window, but are unable to break through the glass.

One of the officers seeks help from a local and returns with a fire extinguisher in his hands, which successfully breaks the glass.

The officer leans one arm through the broken window and can unlock the door and pull the unconscious driver out of the vehicle and place him on the side of the road, a safe distance from the burning vehicle.

At this point, one of the agents in the video hears say, “I don’t have a heartbeat.”

The cop then sits on the floor and begins to perform chest compressions on the motionless driver.

The video was shared by the police on social media yesterday.

Phoenix Police said, “This is what we do. In situations where we don’t have time to hesitate, our training begins and that can mean the difference between life and death. ‘

Police also confirmed that the driver survived the incident and is further recovering at the hospital.

One person responded to the heroic video footage on social media: ‘It’s amazing how people forget all the good they do. Thank you for your service. ‘

Another thanked the Phoenix Police Department for the work they do for their community.
