Oasis are preparing for an emotional homecoming as part of their epic comeback tour next summer.

Warring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have put their 15-year feud on hold to announce they will perform together again, 34 years after their first concert.

And the Burnage-raised brothers will head to Manchester for what will be a biblical homecoming at Heaton Park, 16 years after they last performed there.

They will play four nights in the park, over two epic weekends in the summer, as part of what is expected to be a £400m tour.

The dates announced on Tuesday for Manchester are Friday, July 11, Saturday, July 12 and then the following weekend, Friday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.

Oasis last played Heaton Park in June 2009 for three memorable gigs just before splitting up and are openly proud of their Manchester roots.

Among their final concerts together, Oasis performed three sold-out dates at Heaton Park before months of explosive fights, show cancellations and backstage brawls marked the end.

Shortly after, Noel posted a statement on his official website saying he “could not continue working with Liam for another day.”

On Tuesday, Liam and Noel sensationally confirmed that Oasis, one of the biggest bands in British music history, have reformed for a massive UK and Ireland tour.

The excitement peaked on Sunday after the couple shared the same video, written in the Oasis style, teasing an announcement for Tuesday at 8 a.m.

The same poster appeared on the big screens as Liam finished his headline performance at the Reading Festival on Sunday.

And on Tuesday morning, the iconic Britpop band put all speculation to rest by confirming a series of non-televised concerts in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin next summer.

The 14-show tour will run from July 4 to August 17, kicking off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before the brothers fill Heaton Park in Manchester, Wembley in London, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Croke Park in Dublin.

Despite speculation that Oasis will be on the Glastonbury 2025 bill, it is known that the band will not be performing at Worthy Farm. However, plans are afoot for Oasis to head to other continents outside of Europe later next year.

Announcing the Oasis Live 25 tour alongside the first photo of the brothers together in years, the legendary band said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come and see it. It won’t be televised.”

The Oasis website crashed immediately after the announcement and fans went into a frenzy.

The reunion comes one day before the band split on August 28, 2009.

Tickets to see the Don’t Look Back In Anger hitmakers go on sale in the UK from 9am on August 31, while tickets in Dublin will be available from 8am on the same day.

Oasis fans have hailed it as the “bloodbath of the century” and have vowed to “go to war” to get their hands on them. Others have complained that it is a total “hunt for all” because there appear to be no pre-order links and it is simply a big general sale.

The brothers are understood to have buried the hatchet during a late-night phone call to embark on a £50million reunion tour.

Today’s announcement comes ahead of tracks from the first recording session for Oasis’ debut album, Definitely Maybe, being released on Friday, marking its 30th anniversary.

Previously unreleased versions of songs such as Live Forever, Cigarettes & Alcohol and Rock ‘N’ Roll Star were taken from their first recording session as a signed band, at Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, Monmouthshire.

The recordings were scrapped before the band re-recorded the album at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall.

Fans of the Manchester rock band have been calling for the brothers to reunite since they split up in 2009, prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Their last show together was at the V Festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire, in August 2009. Days later, they cancelled the headline show at the Rock en Seine festival following the argument.

Noel explained at the time: “It is with some sadness and great relief that I am leaving Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they want, but I simply could not continue working with Liam for another day.”

In recent years, Liam has been keen to make amends with his brother and reform the iconic Britpop band, but his older brother has thrown cold water on the idea.

But following Noel’s £20million divorce from ex-wife Sara MacDonald last year, the elder Gallagher is said to have become convinced of the financial merits of getting the band back together.

According The sunThe couple reunited for a “top secret” photo shoot to promote their comeback shows.

Staff in attendance reportedly even had to sign confidentiality agreements to try and keep it a secret. MailOnline has contacted representatives for Noel and Liam for comment.
