Many shots showed Joanna – who grew up in Kansas – having fun with her husband Chip Gaines, 48, and their children.

The television personalities share three sons – Drake, 18, Duke, 14, Crew, four – and two daughters – Ella, 16, and Emmie, 13.

The longtime couple – soon to celebrate two decades of marriage in May – dressed in traditional hanboks and took in the famous cherry blossoms with their children.

“For years my mom has been talking about taking her three daughters to Seoul, Korea when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom,” she wrote in a lengthy caption.

“And for years that was all — a dream we’d talk about in that “maybe, someday” way we all do when something feels just a little out of reach,” she continued.

The New York Times best-selling author expressed her gratitude that she was finally able to fulfill their dream by visiting the historic capital during peak cherry blossom season.

For their route and journey, the Magnolia owners and founders were joined by many people in their family, Joanna explained.

“But this year we decided to finally book it, and we convinced 24 members of our family to come with us to the place where my mother grew up,” she added.
