An NYPD officer was involved in an exchange of fire with a thief trying to steal a motorcycle in the Bronx, police said Thursday.
Officers responding to a report of a stolen motorcycle stopped the robbery in progress near the Target store on W. 225th St. near Broadway in Marble Hill, which sits on the border of the Bronx and Manhattan around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
As the cops approached the crew of robbers, a robber opened fire, prompting an officer to fire back. Police said three or four shots appeared to have been fired in total.
Nobody was hit. The shooter and four accomplices fled and are being sought.
