The New York police arrested a man after allegedly abusing an out-of-service officer aboard a busy subway train.
Giann Verdelli, 67, was taken into custody on Friday morning about the alleged occurrence of a Manhattan-bound service on Wednesday evening at 9 a.m.
The NYPD says Verdelli reached under her 37-year-old woman's dress and touched her genitals.
He quickly fled when the train arrived at the next station, but the ailing victim still managed to take a picture of her alleged attacker.

She shared the image with the police, who quickly identified the man as Verdelli – a convicted pervert with a history of groping woman on New York's metro.
According to NewJersey.com, he has been arrested at least 169 times in the past.
The NYPD would not confirm that number, but told DailyMail.com that it has carried out more than 30 arrests.
Verdelli was only released conditionally since 1 May after having been in prison for nine months for sexual abuse of a commuter in a subway in August 2017.

Verdelli was arrested in 2012 for molesting two women aboard a PATH train en route to Manhattan.
He was accused of two counts of criminal sexual contact.
The previous year Verdelli was convicted of forcibly touching a woman in New York.
He was sentenced to 200 days in a local prison for the violation.
Authorities told NewJersey.com in 2012 that a majority of Verdelli's arrests were related to minor crimes, including forbidden land and possession of marijuana.
From the early Friday afternoon, Verdelli has not been formally charged with the alleged incident of Wednesday.
