A truck driver who has kidnapped, raped and assaulted a woman while threatening to sell her organs and turn her into a sex slave has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Robert Andrew Bennett, 52, of NSW, today pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, kidnapping, burglary and assault in the Brisbane city court.
The father of the seven admitted that he was planning to take a wife in Brisbane that evening in August.
The father of seven drove his truck through Brisbane & # 39; s western suburbs in search of a victim.
The rapist first wanted a waitress to work in a Chinese restaurant in Darra, but he lost his guts – afraid she could pull a kitchen knife on him.
He then saw a second woman through the window of her house, who seemed to be alone.
An NSW truck driver kidnapped, raped and assaulted a woman in Brisbane while threatening to sell her organs and trying to make her a sex slave in 2017
He knocked on the door, forced himself inside, and warned her not to scream before she grabbed her from behind.
She fought back with everything she had, managed to free herself and desperately tried to call her partner for help before Bennet overpowered her and dragged her to a bedroom where he raped her.
The truck driver kidnapped her, forced her with his knee-point in his truck and tied her leg to the passenger seat to prevent her from escaping.
In the next 18 hours she would be raped and abused repeatedly.
Bennett taunted his victim, threatened to force her to become a sex slave, sell her organs for transplantation or leave her body in a ditch, Brisbane District Court was told.
He forced her to send messages to friends and family, saying that everything went well but that they had to leave.
Despite her traumatic ordeal, his victim, who is still experiencing nightmares and anxiety, found the courage to sue her rapist on Friday.
& # 39; I will never understand why you did what you did to me and I hope you will think for a long time about what you did and how wrong everything is & she said hesitantly.
& # 39; I have discovered the new courage and strength needed to survive a person like you. & # 39;
Incredibly, she accepted the handwritten apology from her rapist.
Robert Andrew Bennett pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, kidnapping, burglary and assault.
The victim lasted more than 18 hours for multiple rapes and assaults before they were finally released near her house in Brisbane
Judge David Reid discovered that it was a & # 39; corrupt and premeditated & # 39; Bennett was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
He said he had serious doubts, Bennett would one day be safe from being released into the community.
& # 39; The circumstances of the violation are extraordinary; they are terrible and important, they were premeditated, & he said.
He praised Bennett's victim as a woman with & # 39; considerable strength and courage & # 39; and hoped that she would find the happiness she deserved.
Bennett is eligible to request a conditional release after serving 80 percent of his 14-year sentence.
