A rental truck allegedly “filled” with cannabis plants was stopped in Sydney’s southwest by police, leading to the arrest of three men.
The truck, stopped in Belfield around 2 p.m. on Thursday, contained more than 100 cannabis plants worth around $180,000.
The interception follows a planned police operation which began earlier this month to investigate the cultivation of cannabis at a residence on Portland Street in Enfield.
Police followed the rental truck and a sedan from Enfield’s home before they were stopped on Punchbowl Road.
A rental truck allegedly “filled” with cannabis plants was stopped in Sydney’s southwest by police – and three men were arrested.
Officers executed a search warrant at the Enfield residence shortly before 5 p.m., where they discovered several rooms set up for cannabis cultivation.
They seized nearly 37 plants and dried cannabis with an estimated value of $57,000.
Five men were taken to Burwood police station, three of whom have been charged and are due to appear in court today.
The other two were released pending further investigation.
