New South Wales star Dylan Edwards has had an Origin night to remember, and not just because he put in a very impressive debut performance at the MCG on Wednesday night.

As Channel Nine cameras took viewers into the sheds after the game, the fullback was seen sitting next to Isaah Yeo as the pair reflected on the Blues’ emphatic 38-18 victory in game two to keep the series alive .

Edwards could be seen enjoying a sip of his beer and found a funny way not to avoid spilling a drop.

In hilarious scenes, the 28-year-old briefly balanced his drink on his daughter’s head, while commentators James Bracey and Brad Fittler burst out laughing at what happened.

On the field, Edwards was electric as he outplayed his opposite number Reece Walsh.

Edwards scored a try, set up another and saved a third in a brilliant performance.

He also finished with a game-high 176 meters and eight tackle breaks as Edwards grabbed his opportunity in the Origin arena with both hands.

“It was unbelievable,” Edwards said after the game. ‘We laid the deck early and had a really good first half.

Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans admitted his team had no answers to the relentless Blues, especially in the first half when NSW headed into the sheds with a 34-0 lead.

‘It is best described as momentum swings. “They were on top of us and we couldn’t stop them, so we have a lot to work on,” the veteran running back said.

“We will learn from this.”

Following the MCG football carnage, Michael Maguire’s Blues head to Suncorp Stadium in three weeks’ time looking to repeat their heroics of 1994, 2005 and 2019, when they rallied from 1-0 down to win the series.
