A police officer appeared to have dropped his gun when he chased a suspected thief on the street in Sydney.
The TikTok video showed the NSW police officer running after an alleged suspect on Bourke Street, in the city’s CBD.
But as he sprinted after him, something fell from his belt and rolled to the floor.

“Is that a gun,” one of the women heard him ask.
The officer sprinted back to retrieve the item before continuing his pursuit with his partner.
Earlier in the video, the woman claimed that the potential suspect had her handbag.
The video was uploaded with the caption: ‘Police in Australia be hitting different’.
“Oh my god, he didn’t just do that. It can’t get more embarrassing, ”one person commented.
“I should have taken it,” said another.
Another defended the officer for “daily endangering their lives to protect society.”
“We are aware of the incident and have spoken to the agent involved,” said a spokeswoman for the NSW police.
