A glorious property on Sydney’s northern beaches, owned by NRL legend Des Hasler, has hit the market.

The 63-year-old football guru bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Collaroy apartment for $2.82 million in 2010, when he was still coaching the Manly Sea Eagles.

No price has been listed for this spacious getaway-style home that sits just feet from the surf line and boasts a spectacular 90 feet of beach frontage.

But the now Gold Coast Titans coach and his wife Christine are “holding out” for a $10 million sale, according to the The Telegraph newspaper.

While the median price in the neighborhood is $3.3 million, two nearby homes have sold for more than $10 million in the past two years.

The Haslers spent a lot of money on an extensive renovation of the classic beach house shortly after purchasing it.

Built in the 1890s and located 20km from Sydney’s CBD, this spacious property has a ‘holiday’ feel and features stunning interiors with floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the spectacular ocean views.

Features include an outdoor lounge overlooking the beach, a barbecue “retreat” and an entertainment terrace overlooking the beach.

Other highlights include a beautiful marble kitchen with butler’s pantry and breakfast bar.

There is also a fireplace, a sunroom and a private sitting room.

Meanwhile, the beautiful master bedroom overlooks the ocean and features an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet.

Hasler made headlines when he coached the Sea Eagles to a resounding 40-0 victory over heavily favoured Storm in the 2008 NRL Grand Final.

He was sacked by his former club Manly in 2022 and was appointed coach of the Gold Coast Titans last year.

Hasler, who began his football career as a player with the Penrith Panthers in 1982, also played for Manly, Hull FC in the UK and Western Suburbs.

He also coached the Canterbury Bulldogs from 2012 to 2017 and Manly twice, from 2004 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2022.

Hasler is currently challenged to redeem the Titans’ season as they currently sit 13th in the NRL standings with a handful of rounds remaining before the end of the season.
