AT&T users reported they are experiencing an outage that left them without cell service or WiFi at home.

The outage began around 9:40 a.m. ET, with customers reporting their cell service was completely down.

Reports showed that the phones could not access 5G home internet and users complained that they could not make or receive calls.

AT&T has not yet commented on the outage or when customers can expect their service to be restored.

AT&T’s outage comes shortly after thousands of Verizon and T-Mobile customers reported they were unable to send or receive calls or texts.

AT&T has more than 100 million users in the US, but the number affected by the outage is unknown.

People took to Downdetector, a site that monitors online problems, to report the outage Monday morning in areas as widespread as Chicago, Atlanta, New York and Houston.

One person wrote on the site: ‘A cell phone outside of Chicago can call but receives the message: ‘Your call cannot be completed as dialed.’ Please check the number and dial again.”

About 350 people initially reported an outage on Downdetector this morning, but that number increased to nearly 1,500 as of 11:30 a.m. ET.

An AT&T spokesperson said in an email to DailyMail.com that the company is not experiencing a major outage.

“Our national network is operating normally,” the spokesperson said, adding: “Down Detector is likely to reflect the challenges our customers face when trying to connect with users on another network.”

Heat maps on Downdetector show that most user outage reports are coming from parts of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas, all states that were affected by Hurricane Helene last week.

T-Mobile users also complained that they are not receiving a mobile signal and are having difficulty accessing their home WiFi.

A T-Mobile spokesperson told DailyMail.com that “based on the increase in reports of Down Detector related to other carriers, we believe our customers may be having difficulty connecting to other networks.”

They added: “Outside of some areas where restoration continues following Hurricane Helene, our network is operating normally.”

Although T-Mobile attributed the outage to the hurricane, the areas that affected Verizon and AT&T users show it is more widespread.

AT&T said Sunday that its crews are working to restore service to some of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Helene.

Immense flooding in areas of Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas created dangerous conditions that prevented technicians from major cell phone carriers from accessing the area to repair downed lines and bring in generators.

Restoration efforts are still ongoing as companies work with local energy providers, first responders, and local and state government agencies.

On Sunday, AT&T saying that its crews were working to restore service in “some of the hardest-hit areas,” but warned that many customers “may still experience disruptions to home Internet and phone service due to storm damage and commercial power outages.”
