ENGLAND (4-2-3-1)

First-half spectator, aside from one scare from a back-pass. Busier after the break, made excellent save from Herlovsen.

Lucy Bronze 9

Dominated right side. Unstoppable raid led to first goal, had a hand in the second and blasted in the third.

Steph Houghton 8.5

Inspirational display from Captain Fantastic. Pass out led to second goal and made two vital last-ditch interventions.

Mille Bright 8

On her sickbed on Wednesday but you’d never have known. Dominant, composed and supported Stokes well.

Demi Stokes 7

Not as adventurous as Bronze but solid defensively. Came to England’s rescue with vital block to deny Reiten.

Jill Scott 7.5

Dream start with historic early goal and bombed forward to support attack. Some vital contributions defensively too.

Keira Walsh 6

Passing and positioning a bit hit-and-miss. Left exposed when team-mates raided. Needed more support.

Nikita Parris 7.5

Always a threat, created a great chance for herself but skied it. Second missed penalty of the World Cup is a worry.

Fran Kirby 7

Norway struggled to pin her down. Popped up in littlepockets and showed her creativity. Also pressed well.

Toni Duggan 5.5

Didn’t get much service and could not get herself into the game. Early substitution was no surprise.

No major flashpoints to trouble her — a relief, no doubt, after England’s clash with Cameroon.
