Horrific new details have emerged about how a man saved his partner’s life in an alleged double stabbing in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs.

Lazarus Briggs, 28, was allegedly stabbed 10 times, piercing his intestine and lower intestine, while waiting for an Uber to take him home shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

An alleged stab wound pierced the biceps artery and sent blood into the street outside Matthew Harper’s parents’ $3 million home in North Turramurra, on Sydney’s upper north shore.

Harper, 31, rushed to Lazarus’ aid, stopping the gushing blood with a tourniquet, after Jess William Ratcliff allegedly attacked him with a knife taken from the kitchen of the Harper family home.

Ratcliff, 30, allegedly stabbed Harper in the leg and Briggs collapsed, bleeding from suspected knife wounds to his back, chest and arm.

Emergency services were called to the house on Somerset Avenue, near the corner of Stephanie Place, after it was reported that two men had been stabbed.

The incident is alleged to have erupted after Briggs, from Sydney’s inner west, became involved in an argument with the knife-wielding accused before turning to leave.

It is alleged that Ratcliff then ran into the kitchen and grabbed a kitchen knife before leaving to allegedly stab Mr Briggs in the back.

Briggs then turned around before he was allegedly stabbed in the chest and then in the bicep.
